Kojic Acid

Kojic acid is the cornerstone of Oryza Koji. Naturally derived from the fermentation of rice — the same process that gives sake and miso their depth — it works by inhibiting tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production.
The result is a gradual, visible reduction in dark spots, post-acne marks, and uneven skin tone. Unlike harsh chemical exfoliants, kojic acid brightens without stripping the skin's surface.
We chose it not just for its efficacy, but for its origin. It belongs in a rice-based formula.
Niacinamide

Also known as Vitamin B3, niacinamide works alongside kojic acid to reduce the transfer of melanin to skin cells. It simultaneously strengthens the skin barrier — which is why Oryza Koji doesn't leave skin feeling tight or compromised after use.
Tranexamic Acid

Tranexamic acid addresses the deeper, more stubborn forms of hyperpigmentation — melasma, sun damage, and persistent dark patches — by interrupting the signaling pathway that triggers excess melanin production. It works quietly and consistently.
Licorice Root Extract

Licorice root has been used in traditional skincare for centuries. Its active compound, glabridin, inhibits pigmentation while delivering anti-inflammatory benefits. It calms redness and irritation — making it the ingredient that keeps the formula gentle even as the other actives do their work.
Rice Water Extract
